The Panerai diving watch

The Panerai Luminor Submersible meets the international standard for professional diving watches. It differs from other Panerai watches in that it has a rotating bezel to keep an eye on the dive time. Top models are waterproof up to 2500 m (250 bar).

'Submersible' literally means 'suitable for underwater'. The main feature of the Panerai Luminor Submersible is the unidirectional rotating bezel that allows you to keep an eye on the dive time. The rotating ring distinguishes the Submersible from other Luminor models. As a result, the Submersible is also the only Panerai diving watch that meets the ISO 6425 standard for diving watches. Panerai introduced this wristwatch in 1998.



The essence of Panerai

The Panerai Luminor is the perfect choice if you want to add an iconic wristwatch with a striking design to your collection. The luxury watch from the Italian manufacturer is one of the most famous men's watches of the last decade. Most notable features are the typical Panerai shape of the case and the large bracket that protects the crown. This ensures that the watch is waterproof by pressing the crown into the housing. American actor Sylvester Stallone has contributed to the success of the brand. In the feature film Daylight (1996) he wore a Luminor that he had bought while shooting the film in Rome. Stallone was so impressed with the watch that he had Panerai release a limited edition. A Panerai for every wrist

Panerai launched the Luminor Due in 2016 as a new and elegant variant of their diving watches. For the design, it combines the iconic case shape of the Radiomir with the striking crown protection of the Luminor. At less than 11mm tall, the watch is noticeably flatter than the hefty Luminor 1950 models and fits easily under a shirt cuff. The diameter of the case varies from 42 to 45 mm. Paneristi (the fans of the brand) see the Luminor Due as the perfect watch for the office. The smaller version also easily finds its way to the women's wrist.

The interior of the Luminor Due is an in-house caliber with a power reserve of 3 days. There are both automatic and manual winding variants. The automatic version uses a micro-rotor, which means that the interior of the watch can remain very thin at 3.95 mm.



The First Panerai Watch

Designed at the request of the Italian Navy, the Panerai Radiomir has been worn by professional divers since 1938. To this day it is considered one of the icons of the watch industry. It is characterized by the typical case shape, a cushion-shaped casing, refined strap attachments and a conical crown. In contrast to the later developed Luminor, the Radiomir does not have a bracket as crown protection. The diving watch takes its name from a radium-based fluorescent substance, for which Panerai applied for a patent in 1916. The luminescent and radioactive material was also used for diving instruments, such as depth gauges and compasses.
